The Valais breed (Walliser Schwarznasenschaf in German) is originally from the Valais region of Switzerland, and adapted particularly well to life in the high mountains and grazes even on the steepest, stoniest slopes. At first glance these adorable creatures do not even look real. They look soft and adorable, but they are tough breed. They are large animals and their wool is often used for felting, carpets and in mattresses. The breed is growing in popularity, but they are extremely rare and there are only a few thousand of them left in existence.
